So, what does the future hold for Hsoi's App Shell in terms of Rhapsody (the new OS that will be the product of the merger between Apple Computer and NeXT)?
I really don't know.
Overall, I think that I'll be putting HAS on the shelf. It has it's problems and trying to move it all over to Rhapsody would really be pointless...Rhapsody will require such a major rewrite of applications and so it kinda defeats the purpose of HAS.
Maybe I'll write a HAS II or something that does the same concepts but for Rhapsody (or whatever the future MacOS happens to be). I really don't know....
Bottom line: I don't know. It's too early to call at the time of this writing (28 January 1997) what will happen to the MacOS...so I really don't know what will become of HAS. But my decision right now is that HAS will be put on the shelf. Version 1.0a3 will be the last release of HAS. I might change my mind in the future, but until I see compelling enough reasons to change, this is how it will be.
